Terms of Service
Last updated: 16 July 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Pulse (the "Service"), a web application operated by Sebastian Kistner ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Pulse is a subscription-based online business assistant for freelancers and small businesses. It helps you create invoices, quotes and contracts, manage clients and projects, track time and expenses, and view finance and tax estimates, including optional AI-assisted features.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when registering and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You may invite team members; you are responsible for their use of the Service under your account.
3. Subscriptions, billing and payment
- Paid plans (Starter, Pro, Business) are billed as recurring monthly subscriptions. A free plan is also available.
- Payments are processed by Paddle, our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle handles the transaction, invoicing and applicable taxes. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current paid period.
- Prices are shown on our pricing page and may change with reasonable prior notice for future billing periods.
- Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including: violating any law; infringing others' rights; uploading malicious code; attempting to gain unauthorized access; reselling or reverse-engineering the Service; or using it to send unlawful or unsolicited communications.
5. Your content and data
You retain ownership of the data you enter (clients, invoices, documents, etc.). You grant us the limited right to store and process this data solely to provide the Service. Where you process personal data of your own clients in Pulse, we offer you a data processing agreement (DPA) under Art. 28 GDPR, which prevails over these Terms as far as data protection is concerned. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. AI features and professional advice
Pulse includes AI-assisted features (e.g. drafts for contracts, reminders, quotes, and tax or business estimates). These outputs are generated automatically, may be inaccurate, and are provided for convenience only. They do not constitute legal, tax, accounting or financial advice. You are responsible for reviewing all output before relying on or sending it, and should consult a qualified professional where appropriate.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design and branding, remains our property or that of our licensors. These Terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that estimates will be accurate.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of profits or data. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (e.g. for intent or gross negligence, or under mandatory consumer-protection rules).
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; you may request export or deletion of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by reasonable means (e.g. in-app or by email). Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence.
